The map below shows suffragists who worked in or came from those states. The goal is to assign suffragist to the state where they did their most significant suffrage work. It is sometimes hard to figure out which state to assign a suffragist, if they spent many years in one state then moved to another and continued suffrage work. It covers the period from the mid 1800’s and earlier through final ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920. Beside each name is a note highlighting his or her suffrage activities.
